Translation of Friday Sermons in English:
FRIDAY SERMONS
ON FRIDAY, 30th NOVEMBER 2012

Contents of Friday Sermons as follows:
1. An islam way is a way which bestowed blessing on by Allah. It is a life guidance for the mankind. It is in it contained Allah’s guideline and Prophet’s guideline which must be passed through by the mankind when the mankind undergoes the life in this world. The human who returns to the islam way is the human follows Allah’s guideline and Prophet’s guideline. On the islam way the mankind is free from all of the whispers of the lusts.
2. Analysis in detail about sura Asy-Syam Sura: 9th , verse: 7th – 10th
وَنَفۡسٍ۬ وَمَا سَوَّٮٰهَا (٧)
And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it (The Holy Quran Sura Asy-Syam, Sura:91st Verse:7th).
dan jiwa serta penyempurnaannya (ciptaannya), (Al-Quran Surah Asy-Syam, Surah Ke-91 Ayat Ke-7).
The human is created by Allah with two main pillars such as the soul and the body. The soul has existed before the human is born and its existence is on Allah. It is blown to the body before the human is born. And then where is the soul located when the human lives in the world?
All of the doctors and scientists do not absolutely know the ixistence of the soul which is in the body. All of the doctors can only guess that the soul is in the flood bubbles. It is still up to a point of the guess. Its existence has been still being a mystery up to now. Its existence in the body is not permanent. It is released from the body in time. The parting between the soul and the body is called death.
When the human is dead, the human enters the life phase of the period between the death and the judgement in this phase the humans enters the phase of the waiting. Here an amasing scenery of the heaven is seemed for the sincere soul.
يَـٰٓأَيَّتُہَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَٮِٕنَّةُ (٢٧) ٱرۡجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً۬ مَّرۡضِيَّةً۬ (٢٨)
[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul, (The Holy Quran Sura Al-Fajr, Sura:89th Verse:27th).
Hai jiwa yang tenang. (Al-Quran Surah Al-Fajr, Surah Ke-89 Ayat Ke-27).
Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], (The Holy Quran Sura Al-Fajr, Sura:89th Verse:28th).
Kembalilah kepada Tuhanmu dengan hati yang puas lagi diridhai-Nya. (Al-Quran Surah Al-Fajr, Surah Ke-89 Ayat Ke-28).
On the other hand, the tragic scene of the hell is seemed for the suffering soul.
فَأَلۡهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقۡوَٮٰهَا (٨)
And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness, (The Holy Quran Sura Asy-Syam, Sura:91st Verse:8th).
maka Allah mengilhamkan kepada jiwa itu (jalan) kefasikan dan ketakwaannya. (Al-Quran Surah Asy-Syam, Surah Ke-91 Ayat Ke-8).
The soul is completed with two pillars such as a good desire and an ungodly passion. The ungodly passion always invites mankind in evil. Fujur always guides the mankind to pollute the soul. The good desire always invites mankind in the piety.
The spiritual war between the evil and the piety bears two fortifications which contradicted each other, i. e. the luck fortification and the detriment fortification.the luck fortification shades the mankind when the piety wins the spiritual war. The piety is in the self-human it will purify the soul.
Otherwise, the detriment fortification shades the human when the evil possesses the soul. The evil always pollutes the soul it adds the sin increasingly.
قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن زَكَّٮٰهَا (٩) وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَن دَسَّٮٰهَا (١٠)
He has succeeded who purifies it,
And he has failed who instills it [with corruption].
(The Holy Quran Sura Asy-Syam, Sura:91st Verse:9th – 10th ).
9. Sesungguhnya beruntunglah orang yang mensucikan jiwa itu,
10. Dan Sesungguhnya merugilah orang yang mengotori jiwanya.
(Al-Quran Surah Asy-Syam, Surah Ke-91 Ayat Ke-9 – Ke-10).
3. The human must hold he Allah’s guidance and Prophet’s guidance.
The guidance exists in the holy Quran and Al-Hadith.
The human who does Allah’s and Prophet’s orders, surely, the human knows the Allah’s and Prophet’s orders. The human who avoids Allah’s and Prophet’s prohibitions, certainly, the human knows Allah’s and Prophet’s prohibitions. In order that the human knows Allah’s and Prophet’s orders and prohibitions all at once. The human must possess knowledge on order that the human possess knowledge, the human must pursue the knowledge. The effective time to recite the holy Quran and Al-Hadith is time on Friday Sermons. Listening to the Friday Sermons is more effective that the other sermons. Friday sermons form a public recitation which must listened to by every muslim who must have the duty of the jumat prayer.
Know that sermons out-of-Friday sermons are only attended by a few of people. Their absence is caused by many kinds of reasons. The reasons are sometimes feigned.
4. Affirmation again,
Virtually, death is queue. All humans certainly get the turn. Therefore, prepare death! The world is only a place where the humans stop at for a moment in order to get the real life and permanent life forever. However, in modern era the human is busier to prepare the future in the world than the hereafter. And then when is for the hereafter? Wal aakhirotu khoirul laka minal uulaa, isn’t it? Wal aakhirotu khoiru wa abqoo, isn’t it?
وَلَلۡأَخِرَةُ خَيۡرٌ۬ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ (٤)
And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. (The Holy Quran Sura :93rd Verse:4th ).
Dan sesungguhnya hari kemudian itu lebih baik bagimu daripada yang sekarang (permulaan). (Al-Quran Surah Ke-93 Surah Al-A’la Ayat Ke-4).
وَٱلۡأَخِرَةُ خَيۡرٌ۬ وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ (١٧)
While the Hereafter is better and more enduring. (The Holy Quran Sura :87th Verse:17th ).
Sedang kehidupan akhirat adalah lebih baik dan lebih kekal. (Al-Quran Surah Ke-87 Surah Al-A’la Ayat Ke-17).
It is felt very strange if a seller of ice answers that he goes to sell ice when he is questioned where he will go. So, a worker says that he goes to build the luxurious building and the mosque when he is questioned where he will go, even the elegant human wears the official uniform with an office car comments that he goes to the department office when he is questioned where he will go. All of the replies are not exact, they should respond that they go to the future house, but now I stop at the work place. The future house wanted by them is a house with measurement 1 m x 2 m, very dark inside it, with the earth pillow, without friend or their family.
Thus the core of Friday Sermons on Friday, 30th November 2012.
Allah alone knows the truth of all.

Terjemahan Khutbah Jumah dalam bahasa Indonesia:
KHUTBAH JUMAT
PADA TANGGAL 30 NOPEMBER 2012
KHATIB DAN IMAM : Dr. H. Abdullah Al-Hamid, M.A.
Isi khutbah sebagai berikut:
1. Jalan islam merupakan jalan yang diridhoi Allah. Ia adalah pedoman hidup manusia. Di dalamnya berisi petunjuk-petunjuk Allah dan petunjuk Rasulnya yang harus dilaluinya sewaktu manusia menjalani kehidupan di alam fana. Manusia yang kembali ke jalan islam berarti dirinya mengikuti petunjuk Allah dan Rasulnya. Pada jalan islam manusia terbebas dari segala bisikan hawa nafsunya.
2. Uraian detail tentang Sura Asy-Syam ayat ke-7 – ke-10
وَنَفۡسٍ۬ وَمَا سَوَّٮٰهَا (٧)
And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it (The Holy Quran Sura Asy-Syam, Sura:91st Verse:7th).
dan jiwa serta penyempurnaannya (ciptaannya), (Al-Quran Surah Asy-Syam, Surah Ke-91 Ayat Ke-7).
Manusia diciptakan Allah dengan dua pilar utama yaitu ruh dan jasad. Ruh manusia telah ada sebelum manusia lahir dan keberadaannya di sisi Allah. Ia dihembuskan ke jasad manusia sebelum manusia dilahirkan ke dunia. Lalu dimanakah posisi ruh disaat manusia masih hidup di dunia?
Para dokter dan para ilmuwan lainnya tidak dapat mengetahui secara absolute keberadaan ruh yang menyatu dengan jasad. Para dokter hanya bisa mereka-reka bahwa ruh manusia berada di gelembung-gelembung darah, ini masih sebatas rekaan. Keberadaannya masih tetap misteri hingga kini. Adanya ruh di jasad tidaklah kekal, pada saatnya ia lepas dari raga. Perpisahan antara ruh (rohaniah) dan jasad (jasmaniah) selanjutnya dikenal dengan sebutan kematian. Di saat manusia mati, ia memasuki fase kehidupan kubur. Di alam kubur manusia memasuki fase kehidupan penantian. Di sinilah pemandangan syurga ditampakkan bagi jiwa yang tenang dengan panggilan nafsul muthmainnah
يَـٰٓأَيَّتُہَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَٮِٕنَّةُ (٢٧) ٱرۡجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً۬ مَّرۡضِيَّةً۬ (٢٨)

Sebaliknya pemandangan neraka pun ditampilkan bagi yang mengikuti nafsul lawamah.
فَأَلۡهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقۡوَٮٰهَا (٨)

maka Allah mengilhamkan kepada jiwa itu (jalan) kefasikan dan ketakwaannya. (Al-Quran Surah Asy-Syam, Surah Ke-91 Ayat Ke-8).
Demikian juga ruh dilengkapi oleh dua pilar yaitu nafsul muthmainnah dan nafsul lawamah. Nafsul muthmainnah selalu mengajak manusia pada ketaqwaan nafsul lawamah selalu mengajak manusia pada fujur (kejahatan). Fujur selalu memandu manusia untuk mengotori jiwanya.
(٨) قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن زَكَّٮٰهَا (٩) وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَن دَسَّٮٰهَا (١٠)

Perang batin antara fujur dan ketaqwaan melahirkan dua kubu yang bertentangan. Mereka adalah kubu keberuntungan dan kubu kerugian. Kubu keberuntungan menaungi manusia manakala ketaqwaan memenangkan pertarungan batin. Sebaliknya, kubu kerugian menaungi manusia manakala fujur menguasai jiwa manusia. Fujur melekat pada orang yang mengotori jiwanya. Ia selalu menambah-nambah dosa.
3.Manusia harus memegang petunjuk Allah dan Rasulnya. Petunjuk itu ada pada Al-Quran dan Al-Hadits. Manusia yang melaksanakan perintah Allah dan Rasulnya tentu tahu perintah Allah dan Rasulnya. Manusia yang menjauhi larangan Allah dan Rasulnya tentu tahu larangan Allah dan Rasulnya. Agar manusia tahu perintah Allah dan Rasulnya, sekaligus larangan Allah dan Rasulnya, maka manusia harus memiliki ilmu. Agar manusia memiliki ilmu, maka manusia harus ngaji. Saat yang efektif untuk ngaji adalah saat khutbah jumat.Mendengarkan khutbah jumat lebih efektif daripada mendengarkan ceramah di luar khutbah. Khutbah jumat merupakan pengajian massal yang wajib didengarkan bagi setiap muslim yang wajib shalat jumat.
Ketahuilah bahwa ceramah di luar khutbah hanya diikuti oleh segelintir orang, orang yang hadir cuma sedikit. Ketidakhadirannya dikarenakan oleh alasan yang bermacam-macam terkadang alasan itu dibuat-buat. Mendengarkan khutbah sangat efektif untuk mendapatkan ilmu agama. Anehnya, manusia lebih suka mengantuk saat ia mendengarkan khutbah jumat.
4. Penegasan lagi,
Sesungguhnya kematian itu antrian. Semua pasti mendapat giliran. Oleh karena itu, persiapkan kematian! Dunia hanyalah tempat persinggahan sementara guna meraih kehidupan yang hakiki lagi kekal selamanya. Namun demikian, di jaman modern ini, manusia sibuk mempersiapkan masa depan fana ketimbang masa depan akhirat. Lalu kapan untuk akhiratnya? Bukankah wal aakhirotu khoirul laka minal uulaa? Bukankah wal aakhirotu khoiru wa abqoo?

Akan terasa aneh jika penjual es menjawab bahwa ia mau jualan es saat ditanya mau kemana? Juga kuli bangunan menyatakan bahwa ia mau membangun rumah mewah dan masjid manakala dirinya ditanya mau kemana? Bahkan si parlente berbaju dinas naik mobil dinas menuturkan bahwa ia mau dinas ke kantor tatkala ditanya hendak kemana?
Semua jawaban itu tidak tepat, seharusnya mereka menjawab bahwa mereka mau menuju rumah masa depan, cuma sekarang singgah sementara ke tempat kerja. Rumah masa depan yang pasti didamba adalah rumah masa depan ukuran 1 m x 2 m, didalamnya gelap gulita, berbantal tanah, tanpa seorang teman.
Demikianlah inti khutbah pada hari Jumat, 30th Nopember 2012.
